FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS DURING DOCUMENT UPLOAD/ CERTIFICATE VERIFICATION/ DECLARATION OF SHORTLIST/RANKED LIST

1. Is there any possibility to know whether I am shortlisted for a particular post before the shortlist gets published?

Yes. But only for fresh candidates who are going to get shortlisted for the first time. Such candidates will get a message in their one-time login profile to upload relevant documents for that particular post before a specific date. Mostly (not always), it indicates that you are in the shortlist for that post. However, whether you are in the main list or in the supplementary list within the shortlist cannot be found out earlier.

2. When I tried to upload the documents/certificates, it is showing that "you are not authorized to upload any documents". When will I get the authorization?

Once you are included in the shortlist. You will get a message to upload relevant documents for the posts mentioned. Then only you can able to upload the documents.

3. I got a message in my PSC profile page to upload relevant documents for a particular post for a PSC exam which I have written before. Does that mean I am shortlisted?

Maybe or may not be. If such messages were received, there is a 90% probability that you are shortlisted. However, there are instances that some candidates who received such messages are not being shortlisted.

4. I got a message in my PSC profile page to upload relevant documents for a particular post for a PSC exam which I have written before and I am sure that my marks are above the mentioned cutoff marks. However, when the shortlist is published, my register number is not included in the shortlist. What can be done?

Please contact Kerala PSC attaching the message you have received in your profile page. In addition, you can also submit a query by clicking the feedback tab in your PSC profile (the procedure is shown below). More often, PSC will advise you to recheck OMR once the final rank list is published. Meanwhile, you can also file a written complaint regarding the same. Further action could be taken after rechecking the OMR.

5.  I was unable to attend for certificate verification for the dates as mentioned by Kerala PSC due to some reasons. Can I postpone my verification or do I get a chance to appear one more time for certificate verification? If yes, what should I do?

Yes. If you can't able to attend for certificate verification on that date, you have to draft a letter to Kerala PSC stating your inconvenience to attend the interview and the letter should be submitted to the concerned section officer in PSC who is dealing the certificate verification process. Even if you were absent for the verification, Kerala PSC themselves will send a call-letter as a registered post to your permanent address mentioning the dates for the next verification slot which is the last chance for you to attend the verification process.

6. Do I have to upload the degree level mark list of all Semesters?

No (in most of the cases), you need to upload the degree certificate and consolidated mark sheet mainly.

7. Once the shortlist was published, I was in the supplementary list of candidates. Will it be possible to get promoted to the main list after the interview (say, for example, I received a far better mark in the interview)?

No, you will not get promoted.

8. I am in supplementary list, Is there any chance I will get appointment?

Yes, why not? Kerala PSC follows a merit + community (reservation) wise selection procedure, that is 50% merit based selection and the other 50% community based selection. So there are very much chances that you will get appointment based on reservation. There are instances where the 1st ranker got advice memo only after the reservation candidate from the supplementary list.

8. I have already done certificate verification and generated OTV certificate. Do I have to reappear for certificate verification for another similar post whose result is declared near to the time of the previous one? What can be done instead?

In this case, you need not appear for certificate verification once again, rather you can file an affidavit to represent your participation. Once the verification dates are announced, you will get an intimation in your PSC one-time login profile to file an affidavit for the post mentioned.
